Ah, AI, AI, AI. We just can’t stop talking about AI, can we? Well, whether we want to or are forced to, it seems every industry is on a collision course with AI in one way or another.
I was coaching a client yesterday as part of a pro-bono arrangement via Reciprocoach and they asked me if I could turn on the Zoom AI companion as part of the session. Truth be told, I’d never done it. I wasn’t exactly sure how, but it turned out to be incredibly simple. I just clicked a single button, which then introduced a 3rd presence in the coaching space.
After the session, I received an email from Zoom with a summary of the conversation with subtitles and formatted paragraphs. It was helpful as a clear recap of the coaching session. Mind you, it’s not a transcript. That would not be as helpful unless you wanted to analyze your coaching session line by line. It was just intended to be the “notes” from the session.
As a coach, you might struggle to find the balance between taking notes and focusing on your client. Well, the AI companion might help you to write less and focus more on your client. I’m going to start asking all of my coaching clients if they’d like to have the AI companion on during their sessions.
On another front, I’ve signed up for a program via Coachvox AI that will enable me to create an AI version of myself by taking in my content to get me. I can then launch it in conjunction with one of my websites and let it coach people while I sleep and do other things. It’s not intended to replace me, of course, but to introduce me to prospects or make me available to those who are currently working with me.
I can only use it with one website and I think I’ll give it a go with my coaching website to see if it can generate more business for me. You do need to feed it content and there’s so much on my website that I’ll probably focus on the areas of executive presence and emotional intelligence to start out with.
We’ll begin with a 3-month trial, then go month to month after that if we feel it’s a value add to our business. In the past, we used a chatbot that was integrated into our website and could answer many questions for site visitors. We ended up killing it because no one used it. Coachvox AI tells me this is not a chatbot and isn’t just there to answer questions as much as it’s intended to offer virtual coaching along with answering questions.
I’ll report back on my experience with this new technology so you can decide for yourself if this is something you might like to play around with.
As a person in the world of coach training and development, I feel I need to experiment with these tools so I can properly address questions that come up in relation to what’s possible for coaches to use AI and make thoughtful recommendations.
Now what’s not being addressed just yet is using AI to strengthen my marketing. I have recently fed a topic into an AI engine and had it write a blog post for me. I thought the article was pretty well written and could imagine using it. However, I don’t want to do that. I have a writer on my team and don’t intend to replace them with AI. What I can imagine doing with that content is to turn it into an infographic with the key ideas presented. Now that could be useful.
